Business Retention in Lawrence County, PA
Business Calling Program
Once a company locates in Lawrence County, our goal is to keep them here. The Team Pennsylvania Business Calling Program helps the LCEDC to build upon relationships with businesses in Lawrence County. The business retention has successfully helped Pennsylvania companies find ways to collaborate with government programs, projects and initiatives in order to solve problems and to produce growth for their companies, as well as for the state.
Every year since January 1997, the LCEDC’s professional staff has conducted interviews with local businesses on an annual basis. These calls are designed to identify business needs and concerns. Information is analyzed to determine industry and geographic trends, as well as help to shape future policy.
Once interviews have been completed, the information obtained is entered into a web-based data entry system. A Customer Action Plan is developed and the system automatically generates email referrals to specific regional network members, who in turn contact the business to provide development assistance.

The Business Calling Program is state funded, regionally coordinated, and locally controlled. The relationship building tool has provided businesses with better access to services at both state and local levels.
